Tweneboah Kodua Boakye appointed GHASALC Executive Secretary

The Ghana Association of Savings and Loans Companies (GHASALC) has appointed Mr Tweneboah Kodua Boakye, a certified expert in Microfinance from the Frankfurt School of Finance and Management, as its new Executive Secretary effective September 2017.
Until his appointment, he was the Executive Director of Nkosuo Microfinance Limited, a company he co-founded and managed for about seven years in Accra, Ghana.
He was also the Southern Sector President of the Ghana Association of Microfinance Companies (GAMC) overseeing five regions and also a National Board Member of the association. Prior to his career with Nkosuo, he worked as an Operations Officer and Customer Team Leader with Barclays Bank Ghana Limited from 2007 to 2010.
Mr Kodua Boakye is coming to this new role, being passionate about organisational and regulatory compliance in the financial sector. He is an excellent corporate and private administrator with strong interpersonal, problem-solving and communication skills.

He is also interested in enhancing compliance to Internal Controls, Credit Risk Management and Investments. He has attended a number of workshops, seminars and conferences on Microfinance, Advocacy, Regulatory Compliance, Curriculum Development, Negotiations, Anti-Money Laundering (AML), among others.
Mr Kodua Boakye holds a Bachelor of Science in Geodetic Engineering from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) and an Executive Master of Business Administration (EMBA) in Banking and Finance from Paris Graduate School of Management (Paris).
He also holds Certified Credit Administrator certificate from the National Banking College, Accra, Diploma in Strategic Marketing Management and Public Relations from the Institute of Commercial Management (ICM-UK), and Project Management Programme Certificate from the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA).
Other expertise include Curriculum Development Professional, Facilitator in the area of Microfinance Operations, Financial Management, Budgeting and Financial Statements Analysis for Decision Making.
He is currently pursuing the CA programme with the Institute of Chartered Accountants Ghana.
Meanwhile, he is also a Lay Gospel Preacher and a Sunday School Teacher in the Methodist Church of Ghana, as well as a Board Secretary to Premier Health Insurance Company and RAD Business Advisory Network Centre (RADBANC).
GHASALC is made up of a total of 37 registered members and the industry primarily serves the Small Medium Enterprises (SME) sector of the economy.
